Q: When fitting replacement knives, what process to you recommend?

A: Once you have removed all the blunt knives, carefully clean the knife seats with air/solvent, checking for any damage. If there is damage, be sure to remediate it before attempting replacement. Failure to do this will cause the knife to crack when tightened.

Clean the screws, then carefully replace the knives, fitting them into their seats and fastening them snugly with the correct matching tool.

Once you are happy that everything is nice and snug, check all the screws that they are firmly tightened. Do overtighten, otherwise you’ll strip the screw threads or the screw heads and have harder time getting them out upon next use. Q: What are these used on?

A: Mainly on plunging router bits.

Q: Why four edges?

A: 4 edges gives one long cutting edge and one plunging edge per side.
