About project
The simple idea of dividing a long, narrow interior with a spine wall imparts a clear sense of order. A simple and elegant material palette of light timber and white walls complements the art on display. These spaces capture views of the treetops and port hills beyond, further enhancing the workspace environment.

The CHallEnge
The challenge that Hansens faced was how to cut plywood with HPL (High Pressure Laminate) both top and bottom. Even though they were using solid tungsten carbide compression cutters electro coated with Titanium Aluminium CarboNitride, one of the toughest coatings available worldwide, the material wore the cutters out extremely quickly making it absolutely uneconomic.
THE RESULT
“Entrancing, beguiling, fascinating, a place you’d want to spend more time. Gives a whole new meaning to going into the office.” - Anne Gibson, Reporter, NZ Herald
THE SOLUTION
Tungsten & Tool were able to move Hansens team across to bespoke diamond cutters made specifically for cutting this diabolical ‘take no prisoners’ Plywood with huge success. “The cutters were more than adequate, they worked superbly," says one of the directors.
