A:They are made to cut wood and wood derivatives. We don’t recommend them for cutting exotic products.Q: When fitting replacement knives, what process to you recommend?
A: Once you have removed all the blunt knives, carefully clean the knife seats with air/solvent, checking for any damage.
If there is damage, be sure to remediate it before attempting replacement. Failure to do this will cause the knife to crack when tightened.
Clean the screws, then carefully replace the knives, fitting them into their seats and fastening them snugly with the correct matching tool.
Once you are happy that everything is nice and snug, recheck all the screws that they are firmly tightened.
Do overtighten, otherwise you’ll strip the screw threads or the heads and have an awful job getting them out next time!Q:Are there different grades of knife available?
A: Yes there are a number of different grades specific to particular use. Generally, new cutters are fitted with a General Purpose grade like HLComing Soon5 or TComing Soon4F.Please advise us if you have specific requirements for hardness, finish etc. We stock a lot of variants. Q:What are these knives used on?
A: Largely on planer heads, rebating heads and replaceable Knife router bits.Q: Does the centre hole vary in size?
A: It pays to check this. There are different hole diameters, also some have a countersunk hole
